Hoover is a household name in vacuum cleaners and the company has an excellent reputation for their full size vacuums.
Do their line of Hoover stick vacuum models measure up to the reputation their full size vacuums have set? Let’s take a look at two of them: the Hoover Linx BH500010 Platinum and the Hoover Flair S2250 and find out.
Hoover Linx Cordless Vacuum
The Hoover Linx stick vacuum is the first stick vacuum made by Hoover that uses their WindTunnel technology. Like most stick vacuum cleaners it does not have a long list of features. However, some of the features it does have are quite impressive:
- WindTunnel technology
- 18 volt lithium ion battery
- Battery level gauge which shows remaining battery life
- Auto height adjustment
- Energy star approved
The addition of the battery level gauge is a nice useful feature on the the Hoover Linx cordless vacuum as it allows you to know exactly how much power you have to finish a job. The use of the Lithium Ion battery also allows this vacuum to charge in about half the time it takes most other stick vacuums.
The reviews for this Hoover stick vacuum are somewhat positive with ratings running between 3.5 and 4.4 but most were 5 out of 5 stars. While many found this lightweight Linx to be a great little light-use vacuum, other users were somewhat less pleased. Here are some of the features and functions users liked and disliked about the Linx Hoover stick vac.
Advantages Of The Hoover Linx
Some of the features users liked about the Hoover Linx included:
- Light weight
- Ease of use

- Brush could be turned on and shut off for different floor surfaces
Many users commented on how easily this little stick vacuum made the transition from carpeting to bare floors and back again. Several felt that it did an excellent job of picking up dirt under conditions where light vacuuming made the home look cleaner. However, there were several things that users disliked about this stick vacuum as well.
Disadvantages of the Hoover Linx
Some of the features and functions users disliked about the Hoover linx included:
- Short runtime of 10-20 minutes
- Tips over when on carpeting
Overall the Hoover LINX Cordless Stick Vacuum performs like any stick vacuum cleaners should and better than most. One reason for it’s reduced rating is that most users felt that it was seriously overpriced for a stick vacuum and indicated had this vacuum been priced slightly lower it would have received a better rating.
The Hoover Flair S2250
- Multi stage filtration system
- Large real wheels and swivel nozzle for maneuverability
- 20 foot power cord
- 6 amp

Disadvantages of The Hoover Flair
Despite it’s some of it’s average ratings there seemed to be only two reoccurring complaints regarding the Hoover flair. They were:
