Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub Review
The Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub is a cleaner for hard-surface floors that is designed to be a one-stop tool for cleaning. What exactly does it do? It’s multipurpose. The FloorMate vacuums, damp mops, and dries your floor at your command with easy-to-change modes.
The FH40010B Hoover FloorMate model offers you two tanks for keeping dirty and clean water separate, as well as a spin brushes with a removable squeegee in order to help better clean and dry floors.
In this Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub review, we go into detail about the functions of the vacuum and wet mop modes, present a comparison between using the FloorMate and traditional mopping, and then we wrap up with a summary.
Overview Of The Hoover FloorMate Modes
The Vacuum Mode
The vacuum portion of the Hoover FloorMate is not on a par with a normal upright vacuum cleaner, but it does offer relatively good suction and will take most of the debris and dust from the floor.
Anything that is extra or chunky will likely have to be swept or dust-mopped from the floor prior to using the vacuum portion of the machine.
The Wet Mop Function
It does an immaculate job of cleaning your floors when used as a wet mop. Set your Hoover FloorMate to washing mode and simply press the trigger.
The cleaning solution auto dispenses while your floor brushes revolve rapidly at about 300+ revolutions a minute.
While most floor scrubbers or cleaning mops do not lift up the dirty water from the floor afterwards, the Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub does in fact rinse and then lift up the soiled water and particulates from the floor after mopping.
Comparisons With Typical Floor Mopping
Traditional mopping simply can’t keep up with the Hoover FloorMate in this level. Using a traditional mop you will simply swish the water around the floor. When that water becomes soiled, it is a manual process to assure that you are using clean water in order to keep your floor clean.
The Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub does a wonderful job of cleaning up the dirt from your floor and then removing the soiled water back into the tank rather than letting it dry on the floor.
As well as being a great mopping tool, the floor scrubber will dry the floors, picking up enough of the water that the floor is actually dry by the time that you’re finished mopping it.
As a general rule, the Hoover FloorMate is the best tool to use on hardwood or sealed flooring. It dries the flooring enough to prevent the floor from being slippery or dangerous, adding to its usefulness even further.
In addition to being a very good floor mopping tool that will better sanitize your floors, the Hoover FloorMate is also a valuable tool for picking up spills and other mishaps that can happen with children.
Spills are no problem at all. The retrieval system will pick up the spills and the mopping function can then cleanse the issue and dry it nearly instantly.
Storage And Size
The fold-ability of the Hoover FloorMate makes it very compact so that it will store easily in even the smallest spaces. Tanks are easily removed for cleaning.
The Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub is slightly higher priced than other typical wet mop floor systems. It does however offer more features and greater convenience. The Hoover FloorMate does require that the recovery tank is emptied and cleaned regularly.
All portions of the Hoover Floor Scrubber are able to be removed and cleaned and should be done several times a month, making it slightly less convenient, but nearly all floor scrubbers will require this process.
All in all, for a price that is particularly cost-effective and lower than many comparable products, there are very few down-sides to the Hoover FloorMate.
