Electrolux Oxygen Canister Vacuum Cleaner Review

This review is for two of the popular Oxygen Electrolux Canister vacuum models–the EL6988D and the EL6988E.

They are known for offering better vacuuming power than competitor canisters because of their improved filtration and powerful suction.

In addition, you can go from tile to carpet and not lose suction power. They also offer very quiet operation.

The Electrolux Oxygen Canister EL6988D

Electrolux Oxygen Canister EL6988DThe EL6988D Electrolux Oxygen Canister Vacuum Cleaner features a power head, with its own motor for more cleaning power and it is still a quieter operating machine than some other canister models.

It also features an auto-closing bag system, which keeps dust and allergens from escaping, when you change the bag. Besides the brush roller, accessories for hard floor surfaces and the wide bumpers to protect furniture and baseboards, this Electrolux Canister vacuum requires little maintenance.

You get finger-tip brush-roller and suction power controls on the handle and a heavy-duty 1400 watt motor.

Some people will think the biggest drawback to this model is the price because they are around $400.

The other complaints seem to be related to the use of the strong-plastic, which is used on the low-profile swivel head, because some users have had the swivel portion of this part break, but usually under warranty.

Overall, you get powerful cleaning performance and you can quickly switch between carpets and hard floors or clean furniture and drapes by changing the speed of the brush-rollers. The weight is 28 pounds, making it twice the size of the EL6988E.

Electrolux Oxygen Canister EL6988E

Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner EL6988Very similar in many ways to the EL6988D, the Electrolux EL6988E offers the superior HEPA filtration system to capture over 99% of airborne dust and allergens, and it features the self-closing design.

It allows you to quickly transition between floor surfaces, furniture or drapes. It features a unique power head that allows you to see the cleaning performance, but it still features the separate motor and runs quietly.

Weighing only 13 pounds, it is smaller than the EL6988D at 28 pounds, but it removes pet hair like a magnet and it offers a lot of suction, with easy mobility.

Cons of the Oxygen Electrolux Canister vacuum EL6988E include the problem of the plastic power head breaking at the swivel, under certain amounts of pressure and other complaints were minor, such as the air venting upwards or the hose being kinky, when it comes out of the canister.

These are minor design flaws that are worked out with use and the plastic swivel head is covered under warranty.
